I’d like to be your senator… who am I?
Hi Utah I want to be your senator:
I believe in the constitution and small government that's why I would be your best bet for creating new government jobs and handing out confiscated wealth to you and my savvy friends.
I learned the hard way (went from rags to riches) and I know all about money as well as justifying my actions because I'm a small businessman-millionaire.
I'll get the job done no matter if I have to give up what's most important to me to get it done. Like principles. But i'd do it all for you.
You voted for a businessman the last 2-3 times you shouldn't have a problem voting for me. Cut from the same fabric i'd say.
PLEASE VOTE TODAY
Bridgewater for Board games Mike Lee for Senate
So the Utah primary is coming up and I want to give my insight for what it's worth.
When I first listened to the candidates I thought Mike Lee and Bridgewater seemed to be good choices. Mike Lee went on to continue to impress me and Bridgewater has not done anything that has made me feel he'd be the right choice.
The way I see it... Bridgewater would be my choice for a partner on a strategy board game (We'd have fun, be friends and win the board game) and Mike Lee would be my choice for the next senator.
(My ramblings below)
What’s up with them Republicans?
So I must admit I don't follow the parties that much.
I know I was very very disapointed with republicans over the last few years...
I thought they stood for things that they apparently didn't.
There was no protection of freedoms and the government only got bigger under bush.
They started agressive wars, they did the patriot act and pretty much spit on the constitution.
Growing up I used to think that was the role of the democrat party... but it seemed like sometimes democrats were the ones wanting to protect a couple of freedoms.
(OK so they're not that big into freedoms, i'm just saying it felt like it at times compared to republicans)
What's Up?
So now I ask what's up with the republicans?
Are the ranks rising up against the establishment? Are they trying to take back their party, their ideals, their principles?
I went and photographed an event where I was shocked to hear so much talk of freedom and limitation on government it felt like I was at a constitution party meeting or a libertarian party meeting.
The 4 candidates for US senate from utah were all after a member of their own party that they had felt had gone very astray. Bob Bennett.
The angle?
Was it simply talk to appeal to us?
will they make a power grab if we put them back in office?
Or was it a rising up from the ranks of people that don't like what's happening?
I know that the person I was shooting for Mike Lee touts his background of supporting the constitution.
Another guy Williams was very up front about how a bill must qualify with the constitution in order to consider voting for it.
This evening seemed to be more the party of Ron Paul than anyone.
Certainly not Bush, McCain... perhaps many of them like Romney or Palin... but maybe that's just the way someone likes "Their Team" and wants them to win.
Why the change?
I think wether they like to admit it or not everyone was affected by the campaign of Ron Paul and the chords he touched in the minds/hearts of so many.
I don't mind if they don't acknowledge Ron Paul.
It's about time there starts being more discussion on principles ... principles above politics.
It doesn't need to be the party of Bush, Paul, Reagan, McCain, Palin, Hannity, Beck... they should stop following the crowd and start voting for the best options... no matter the party.
Glad to see it
Anyway... glad to see what's happening in their party.
I might actually vote for a republican this year (unlike 08')
But I'll always vote for the best option... no matter if people think they can win. I aim to have a clean concious and know I didn't pick the other Evil in the Lesser of Two Evils.
